Donning hard hats and safety vests, five students participating in the Oregon Building Congress’ Student Construction Academy got a first look at James W. Fowler Co.’s latest construction project at the Columbia Boulevard Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Accompanied by a supervisor from the Clark County Educational Service District #112, the students were given a tour of the final stages of the project, which converts methane gas generated by the treatment plant to energy that will provide 40 percent of the power requirements for the CBWTP. The five students on the tour have already earned their GED and are now looking to shape their careers in construction.
