  • Is there a lot of travel?

    Travel can depend on your position, your specialty, and on your desire to travel. We strive to keep our crews local to our regions in Seattle, Portland, and San Diego but opportunities may present themselves to work cross-regionally.

  • Do you offer opportunities for advancement?

    Promoting from within is the way we do business. By presenting our employees with opportunities to challenge themselves and develop professionally, we become a stronger team.

  • What type of safety training is provided?

    Each region is staffed with a safety representative (RSR) that helps ensure the safety of our job sites and our team. Our RSR provide training on specialty topics, as well as routine training for standard knowledge and compliance purposes. While our Safety Representatives do a great job, they are also not afraid to reach out to agencies that specialize in certain topics to ensure our team gets the best training possible.

  • What are the sizes of the projects?

    Our projects range in size and specialty. From small projects under a million dollars to joint ventures over 150 million dollars, we do it all.

  • What locations do you cover?

    We primarily work out of our Seattle, Portland, and San Diego regions, but will provide our services wherever they are requested. Beyond our regions, we've completed projects in Hawaii, Utah, and Kentucky to name a few states!

  • What are your typical working hours?

    Your work week and hours depend on your position within J.W. Fowler and the project you are on. While most projects have a Monday through Friday, daytime work schedule, some projects do require night and weekend work.

  • What benefits are offered?

    J.W. Fowler offers a comprehensive benefit package that includes competitive wages, 401K, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, and flexible spending accounts.

  • Is experience required?

    Experience may be required depending on the position. Our job descriptions will note any experience we hope you already have or any experience that is required for the position.
