Lower Northwest Interceptor – Sacramento Force Main

The Sacramento Force Main Project is the southernmost section of the overall Lower Northwest Interceptor Program. It conveys flows from the Southern Sacramento River Crossing project, just north of Freeport, California, through the Delta Shores area of Sacramento, to the Sacramento Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant (SRWTP). The project crosses the environmentally sensitive buffer lands area surrounding the SRWTP.

The scope of work consisted of the installation of 4,810 linear feet of dual pressurized 66-inch reinforced concrete cylinder pipe (RCCP) and Permalok steel force main via an 83.5-inch microtunnel. The pipeline crosses under Interstate 5 and continues through the sensitive buffer lands surrounding the SRWTP and under both Laguna and Morrison Creeks.
