The project will convey combined sewer overflows and storm flows from the Balch Drainage Basin in Northwest Portland to the West Side Big Pipe.  The scope of the project consists of microtunneling approximately 6,700 feet at depths ranging between 40 to 75 feet below the surface.  Six shafts will be constructed along the microtunnel route to provide access and connect existing pipelines to the conduit.  Construction is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2009 and will last approximately 30 months.
